Last Voices of Alamein

Veterans Wanted

The 70th anniversary of this great battle will be marked by a special day at the Royal Artillery Museum, a day when those Gunners voices will not only be heard but recorded for posterity.  “The Last Voices of Alamein” celebration will allow the museum to preserve the thoughts and stories of those Gunners who were there that day.

Each veteran, amidst a day of battle gun drills re-enactments, films and the ubiquitous “tea and a wad” will be interviewed by volunteers and museum staff to capture the moment in time when the guns opened fire that October day in 1942.
