Army Reservist raises for the RA Charitable Fund!

Army Reservist raises for the RA Charitable Fund!

On the 28th of November 2015, Army Reserve soldier Staff Sergeant David Cook from Sunderland will complete a 24 hour individual rowing machine marathon, at 205 (3DvA) Battery, Army Reserve Centre in South Shields. His aim is to raise as much money as possible on behalf of Royal Artillery Charitable Fund, Charity Registration No 210202.

The Royal Artillery Charitable Fund assists all Royal Artillery officers, soldiers and their dependants, both serving and retired, in their time of need - whatever the cause and at any time in their lives. Indeed in the last 24 months there have been a number of benefactors within 101st (Northumbrian) Regiment, Royal Artillery. In previous years David has raised funds for numerous local charities by running the Great North Run carrying 24lbs dressed in full military kit, completed a 22 miles swim in local pool, a 24 hour non-stop static bike ride, a 84 mile walk along Hadrian’s Wall and a 24 hour Circuit Training routine consisting of 101 exercises, involving multi gym and cardiovascular equipment.

He has also completed numerous half and full marathons, sponsored walks, and Boxing Day dips.

David said "I am always looking to put something back into society, this year I hope to raise as much as possible in aid of the Royal Artillery Charitable Fund."

The Commanding Officer and all members of 101st (Northumbrian) Regiment Royal Artillery wish Staff Sergeant Cook all the very best on the 28th November 2015, if you are interested in sponsoring him you can do so via his Just Giving Page below:
