The Royal Artillery cycling cohort in RSA Larkhill organised a great event. The roads were closed to traffic and had been swept to within an inch of its life. Having been a cold, damp start and not ideal racing conditions the afternoon brought some sunshine and conditions were perfect - so with the hay bales strategically placed the competition got underway. The race kicked off with the novice race and ladies race going together.

We at the RAA would like to thank Abraham Day from 47 Regt RA for raising funds for the Royal Artillery Assocation. It was an epic challenge and in Abe's own words he would like to thank you all that dontaed:-

We at the Newport branch have a member in his 97th year who is celebrating 78 years since his enlistment into the R.A .
George Reynolds enlisted in the Royal Regiment of Artillery at Newport Barracks - now Raglan Barracks - on 08/03/1937 aged 19. Supporting Gunners............this is what we do at the RA Charitable Fund and the RA Association. In fact it is the bedrock that holds the Regimental Family together. Comradeship and support on all levels. The RAA Facebook page has now been running for some time and we have over 5000 members comprising of Gunners and supporters of the Royal Regiment and its Veterans.
