On Monday 2nd February the Chestnut Troop celebrated their 222nd Battery birthday and the anniversary of the foundation of the Royal Horse Artillery.
The all day celebrations started with the Officers and SNCOs waking up the Gunners with traditional ‘Gunfire’, a delicious mix of coffee and rum.

The Royal Regiment did very well in the New Year’s Honours List. We had many serving soldiers recognised for their Service and some recognised for Acts of Outstanding achievement.

Raised by Royal Warrant at Woolwich in 1716 the Royal Regiment of Artillery will celebrate its Tercentenary on 26May 2016. In order to mark this historicmilestone, a series of commemorative activities, collectively known as Royal Artillery 300 (RA 300), will take place over the next few years. These activities will occur simultaneously to World War I centenary and Waterloo 200 commemorations.

The Cornwall Cup is given out to the Regiment that raises the most money throughout the year for the Royal Artillery Charitable Fund.
This year the cup has been awarded to 104th Regiment Royal Artillery.
