DE&S ‘Ride To Remember’ Op HERRICK
A team of six military personnel and civil servants from Artillery Systems, Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S), embarked on a 500km journey from Abbey Wood, Bristol to the National Memorial Arboretum (NMA), via the Royal School of Artillery, Larkhill. On Monday 27th July 2009 WO2 Sean Upton made the ultimate sacrifice whilst on patrol in the Sangin District of Helmand Province Afghanistan. He died as the result of an explosion whilst on foot patrol.
Sean was serving with 53 Battery RA, part of 5th Regiment Royal Artillery at the time.
As a mark of respect to our fellow brother we dedicated a tree to his memory
at the National Memorial Arboretum on Saturday 11th July 2015

On 16th July a team comprising of Sgt Craig Neill, Bdr Tanya Parry and Bdr Shane Gascoigne of 57 (Bhurtpore) Bty RA visited their RAA affiliated branch in Ramsgate and put on a stirring presentation on past and present life in their battery, including operational tours and current equipment.
The presentation was so professional it inspired many questions from the audience, most of which
were answered over a drink and curry buffet!

The 10K British London run took place in London on the 12th July. The event was again well attended by the Royal Regiment of Artillery.
The Royal Artillery Charitable Fund had teams from 16 Regt RA, 14 Regt RA, 12 Regt RA, 26 Regt RA and 1 RHA. The event itself was a huge success and we are very grateful to all our Regiments for taking the time out of their weekends to raise money for the Charitable Fund.

3rd Regiment Royal Horse Artillery is a Close Support Artillery Regiment, which has been based in Germany for 17 years but is now moving to Albemarle Barracks just outside Newcastle-upon-Tyne. The Regiment consists of 5 Batteries, C, D, J (Sidi Rezegh), M (Headquarters) Battery and N Battery (The Eagle Troop).
