Members of the Royal Artillery Association, the Commanding Officer, 101st (Northumbrian) Regiment Royal Artillery, Lieutenant Colonel Sean Grant Royal Artillery and Officers and Soldiers' from 269 (West Riding) Battery in Leeds paraded at Sheffield City Centre, Cenotaph, Barkers Pool.
A special plaque was unveiled today in the city centre in honour of Sergeant Major John Crawshaw Raynes who earned a Victoria Cross for his bravery and devotion to duty in World War 1...

'The Gunner Cycling Team at the Inter Corps Road Race Series Championships in Redbridge London. The team achieved two top twenty places on the day, placed second overall as a team for the 2015 race season and Gnr Theron (32 Regt) was awarded runner up best rider for the 2015 series. Overall a great result for the Gunners and plenty to build on for the 2016 race season'.

The last 4 months, since the Launch has seen the Captain Generals Baton travel from England to Europe and capture the imagination of the Royal Artillery far and wide. It has visited some great monuments and Battlefields and also been witness to some great events.

DE&S ‘Ride To Remember’ Op HERRICK

On Monday 27th July 2009 WO2 Sean Upton made the ultimate sacrifice whilst on patrol in the Sangin District of Helmand Province Afghanistan. He died as the result of an explosion whilst on foot patrol.
Sean was serving with 53 Battery RA, part of 5th Regiment Royal Artillery at the time.
As a mark of respect to our fellow brother we dedicated a tree to his memory
