It was with great sadness that the Regimental flag of the Welsh Gunners was lowered for the last time at Albemarle Barracks signalling the disbandment of the Regiment.
Over 300 officers and soldiers from 39 Regiment Royal Artillery, which is known as the Welsh Gunners, were joined by their families and veterans for a parade and flag lowering ceremony at the barracks.

AROUND BRITAIN’S COAST (ABC) MOTORCYCLE TRIP
I plan to motorcycle ride around the coastline of Britain using roads and bye-ways, keeping as close to the coast as possible. The trip will be in aid of three charities. LEWIS NELSON RENSHAW (1918-2015)
It was with great sadness that Newark Branch learnt of the loss of one of Newark's Gunner Veterans, Lewis Renshaw, who passed peacefully away in Nottingham Queens Medical Centre on January 12th where he was being treated following a car accident before Christmas.
